Day Ten: Cairo and Goodbyes

On our tenth day in Egypt we woke up early, had breakfast, and then met our driver and Abercrombie and Kent representative in the lobby for transfer to the airport. All our bags were packed, and repacked, and then redistributed and packed again. Some of us had purchased more memorabilia than others. Sandy had brilliantly brought an extra empty duffel bag for just such a contingency. It was given to those who needed it most.

Traveling from the hotel I said goodbye to the roosting egrets in the trees, and to the jacaranda trees, and (with less sorrow) to the incessant beeping of car horns. The rest of our journey was uneventful...

I have a fair number of photographs left over that I haven't added into any of the posts; I'm just going to put them here, without explanation or apology. Enjoy!

Sorry ladies, he's taken...

Okay I lied - I have to say something about this. Sandy carried that camera equipment around everywhere, to every temple, on every long hot walk. And it had to weigh 40 pounds if it weighs anything. Good lord. Better him than me. And look! He has a picture of Pooka on the strap of his camera bag - given to us in luggage tag form by our friends Meg and Bob, owners of Bojie.

It's been fun writing about our trip, but I have to be honest, I'm sort of relieved to be finished! The next post will be, almost definitely about BEES...

I'm stoked to see the bag came to some good use!
